EAMCET stands for Engineering Medical Common Entrance Test. It is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University Hyderabad as a substitute of TSHE (Telangana State/Andhra Pradesh Council of Higher Education). Based on TS EAMCET Results, Admission is granted in various Engineering, Architecture Medical, Dental and Pharmacy courses. In year 2014, Due to conflict during AP EAMCET Counselling, EAMCET was divided into 2 separate Exams namely AP EAMCET (Andhra Pradesh Engineering Medical Common Entrance Test ) and TS EAMCET (Telangana State Engineering Medical Common Entrance Test). Both Exams are conducted for admission in Engineering ,Medical and Dental Courses in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana State. From 2009 onwards, 25% weightage is given to class 12 marks. Also in 2009, Online Counselling Process was introduced in EAMCET.

- TS EAMCET 2016 took Place 3 times
The EAMCET exam was first scheduled on May 15, 2016. However due to some reason it was postponed to July 9, 2016. EAMCET Resultswas announced on July 13, 2016.Candidates can check TS EAMCET Results through following steps:
- Visit EAMCET official Website.
- Click on Results option.
- Enter your Roll number and Date of Birth
- Click on submit button and download TS EAMCET 2016 Results.
Around 50,000 candidates appeared for EAMCET. But due to leakage of question paper, EAMCET Exam got cancelled again and now it is scheduled to be on September 11, 2016. Admit Cards has been released from September 3, 2016. Candidates can download it from the official website.
- EAMCET Exam Pattern changes time to time
To facilitate TS EAMCET Results and Admission Procedure, the conducting authority keeps on changing the exam pattern quite frequently. The question paper consists of 160 questions from 4 subjects namely Maths/Botany, Maths/Zoology, Physics and Chemistry. The questions are of objective type which are asked in different formats such as Match the following, choose the right statement, assertion-reason based questions.
- Marking Scheme in EAMCET
One of the benefits of giving EAMCET is that there is no negative marking. The qualifying marks in EAMCET is 20% i.e. Candidates have to score minimum 40 marks out of 160. For candidates belonging to SC/ST Category there is no minimum qualifying criteria.
- EAMCET is exempted from giving 15% medical seat to All India Central Pool
Both AP EAMCET and TS EAMCET does not fall in the category of giving 15% of their seats in colleges of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to All India Central Pool. They provide admissions on the basis of AP EAMCET Results and TS EAMCET Results. However EAMCET holds special reservation for candidates which are as follows:
1/3rd of the seats are reserved for women candidates in each course and in each category namely (OC/ SC/ ST/ BC/ CAP/ NCC/ SP/ PH). However, this reservation is not be applicable if women candidates are selected on merit in each category.
- TPMCA Confused Over Admission
Telangana Private Medical Colleges Association is in Dilemma that whether they should accept NEET score to provide admission or wait for EAMCET Results. According to TJDA(Telangana Junior Doctors’ Association) they want to wait for TS EAMCET Resultsfor commencement of admission process however the association feels they should go ahead with NEET Score. The Vice-Chancellor Dr. B Karunakar Reddy is now thinking of approaching to Supreme Court with a plea of increasing the time for Medical Admission this year.
